Riggs has walked to the Rainbow bridge.

Update posted by Rugaz Rescue Inc

A Very Heartbreaking PupDate on Rugaz Rescue Inc. Chandler "Riggs"..

We think the note his foster mom wrote says it all:

"I held your dog today while he passed...

He passed away from a combination of extreme infection (From all the wounds he caused himself trying to get free from where you placed him captive on that fence) and a medical condition, lymphedema that could have been managed if he received medical care in the time you had him.

Did you know your dog had this disease and is that why you tied him up and left him to die?

Your dog gave me kisses, held my hand, slept in my lap, ate out of a syringe, got to eat better then ears blended down. He had wind in his fur during car rides, and he got to meet some pretty amazing people that fully supported him knowing he may not make it...

Your dog,you abandoned became my dog. Became a Rugaz Rescue Inc. dog. He became a dog that belonged to the community's hearts. Your dog was so loved by so many, and he fought like hell to stay on this earth with me, with everyone he touched, and everyone he didn't touch. Despite all you did to him, he still wanted and knew love.

Your dog had more humanity then you will ever have. Our main focus was fighting for Riggs life in the beginning. To bring awareness that this is happening in our own communities. To make sure whatever out come Riggs knew he had a family, and was loved and adored.

Now Rugaz Rescue Inc. focus is on getting Rigg's information and photo's out there to see if we can find the person responsible for Rigg's passing. We need people to be aware this is happening in our backyards... Someone know's something...

To say I'm devastated or angry doesn't quite speak the words I truly feel. I just hope Riggs knew how much I personally loved him, and I told him day after day how much this whole community loved him and were pushing for his recovery... He was a dog that forgave, and loved despite all that was done to him.

If humans could learn just a touch of the humanity, forgiveness and love a dog like Riggs has for human kind, this world would be so much different.

We tried like hell Riggs, and you fought an amazing fight. You shouldn't have lived to fight this long and everyday was a miracle..

I am so so very lucky to have known you, your love, your kisses, your knubby tail wags...

You were tired, and your body couldn't fight anymore despite everything we were doing. I understand, I don't want to believe it, but I understand you had to move on.

Till we meet again Riggs, I will never stop fighting for you and justice for you all."
