We are delighted to announce that our 2019 charity partner is Special Olympics Malta (SOM). This will be the third year running that we have partnered with SOM and we want this year to be the best yet.

Since SOM was founded in 1968, Special Olympics has grown from a competition involving 1,000 athletes to a worldwide movement of four million athletes, having over 170 accredited programs. Each of these programs reflects the culture, customs and diversity of their local communities while sharing a reputation that defines Special Olympics.

Even as they grow in numbers, their story still centres on brave individuals who achieve great things together.

SOM’s National Director, Anna Calleja, wanted to share a few words with you:

“Betway and Special Olympics Malta have been working together with an aim to send a message of unity in sports. Sports helps all sections of society to develop friendship, understanding and acceptance. Betway and Special Olympics Malta hold hands to show that everyone is equal in sports.”

Throughout the year we will be organising a few initiatives to fundraise for this fantastic cause, so key an eye out for communications about these. However, if you’d like to fundraise for SOM outside of these events, please feel free to utilise this dedicated fundraising page!
