The Grid Sprint Malta - They Smashed it!

Update posted by Betway Limited

Saturday 20th October, 11 staff from our Malta office took part in The Grid Sprint – a 6km gruelling obstacle course.

Not only did they all complete the course, raising €100s for their chosen charity partner – Special Olympics Malta – but they did it in style, with one of the colleagues (John Mackie) crossing the finish line with a beer in hand.

Congratulations to all 11 staff members who took part:

  • Emma Zammit
  • Mark Abbosh
  • Owen Micallef
  • Laurens Grossard
  • Andrew Parsonson
  • Jaz Cable
  • John Mackie
  • Karolina Iskrzynska
  • Jo Flagstad
  • Chris Broughton
  • Ryan Mizzi

We spoke to a couple of the staff after the run to see how they felt.

Mark Abbosh – ‘It was a very well organized event with some much tougher obstacles this year. It was certainly challenging! Entering as a Betway team and raising money for a good cause made it a very enjoyable and rewarding experience.’

Laurens Grossard – ‘One can only bond by suffering together. In that respect, The Grid offered an ideal platform for an outstanding team building activity. It was very challenging, but nothing compared to the daily fight of people with disabilities. Therefore, I'm happy that we're sponsoring a good cause like Special Olympics Malta.’

Karolina Iskrzynska – ‘This year The Grid Sprint was very tough but at the same time I had so much fun. The Grid Sprint was a challenge and face my fears also to see if my mind and body could handle different types of obstacles that you had to experience over there. Team Betway who participated in did a very good and hard work to support and contribute to Special Olympics.’
