JMS Lombok Earthquake Response

Stage 1 – JMS has commenced the immediate response of delivery of food, blankets, water, medicine and evacuations. JMS has also commenced the data collection from those affected – documenting what is required on the ground.

Stage 2 – JMS has identified that encouraging people to go back inside their houses, where possible, is critical. It is cold at night at Sembalun and people will be healthier if they have access to their houses for protection from the weather and for cooking. JMS is proposing the setting up of “trauma camps” for the three villages of Sembalun.

Stage 3 – Rebuilding of the villages. President Jokowi has promised between 15 000 and 50 000 rupiah per house depending on the damage. Whilst JMS are in Sembalun they will monitor the distribution of this aid.

JMS has successfully sought donations for Stage 1 which they are currently implementing.

JMS is seeking funding for Stage 2.
