A year ago...

Lolo exuded life and charm. He was as healthy as one can be for his age of 92 years old. His own daughter commemorates this with her post a year ago with the following caption:

"My Tatay (father). Thank God for his healthy appetite and good demeanor (always!) Mamaya mag-siesta na sya (Later he'll take his afternoon nap). I feel like a young girl again whenever I see him with specs. He wears them once in a blue moon nowadays. It's a surprise when things like this takes you back in time. Never fails to make me smile and reminisce. #betinglopez"

Fast forward to today,

December 31, 2017. It is his birthday and at 94 years old he is still fighting to get home from the hospital. He is currently weaning from the mechanical ventilator and is coming to terms with breathing through an opening in his neck (tracheostomy). Everyday is a challenge and a practice to lower his ventilator set-up to get him to breathe on his own without any mechanical assistance. Thank you to those who've donated and those who've followed this campaign. Kindly spread the word and spread the love and story of family. Happy Birthday to our Lolo!
