PURAVIDA SCUBASURERAS

Update posted by Vanela Grace Torres

It was the first time to do a dive clean up. Two typhoons passed by from the month of December and January and the impact of trash to our House Reef from the currents are visible. I feel guilty and ashamed whenever I guide divers to a dive site that is full of trash. On my opinion, filthy dive sites describes its people so me and Celine decided to clean up.

We used nitrox and collected trash up to 27 meters. As we found chain of trash were able to collect one sack of rubbishes estimated to be 20 kgs composed of single used plastics, wrappers, fishing lines, clothes, slippers, empty bottles, bottle caps, plastic utensils, toothbrush, diapers, lighters, cigarette butts, rice sacks and other items.

Two dives, 60 minutes, three mesh, 27 meters, Nitrox, one dive site.
Its just the tip of the iceberg. Heads up to my fellow divers Les Sharp and Céline Gouëllo. 🌏
Thanks to the management for supporting this initiative.

We will start to do this activity every month!!! yey!
