Thank you to all our supporters

Update posted by Annabel Street

We would just like to say again a great big thank you to all of you who have donated. The work is not so visable at the moment, and we are slowed down by rain and wind, but we will get there. We now just have the carcass of the ark to remove and then all burnt debris (apart from trees) will have gone.We built a big chicken house and fenced a large area around it. The plan is to encourage the chickens to keep the land clear around the house, but still let them roam free for the 2nd half of the day, this way creating a fire break around the house. We are waiting for confirmation on what we are allowed to build without having to apply for building permission as far as horse shelter and hay storage goes. This time we would like to build from bricks so if a fire or hurricane ever pass through again, the losses will be less, as soon as we get the go ahead our next project is the horses shelter and store room, in the mean time we are sowing seeds, grass and flowers for the bees, improving the fences for the horses and continuing on with refencing the perimeter of the property. I would like to mention some people from Belgium who visited us last year as guests but left as friends. The first is Karen Bernaert and her wonderful children Ona and magnus and partner Jorgen. They started a campaign `pancakes for Portugal` Karen baked and baked and baked, delicious vegan pancakes, she might never be able to look at a pancake again, but in doing so raised an amazing 825 euros for our campagin. Magnus her son even did a talk at school about the fire. Thank you also to https://taklifestyle.wordpress.com/ who supported Karen and helped to spread the word.

The 2nd is Diana Laginestra. Diana sold vegan, gluten free cakes from a little Belgium store called peas, she sold them at work and delivered them to peoples homes to raise money for our campaign, she raised a fantastic 374 euros.

We were also donatted 255 euros by `horsesof the landfiresportugal` which enabled us to buy 56 bales of lovely hay.

Thank you so much, all of you who have supported us, even the smallest donation has helped and will help. As we enter into 2018 we leave behind the exhausting energy of the last months of 2017, but we take with us the love and support of all of you. It has enabled us to carry on, to encourage us that what we do is worthwhile. Onwards and upwards renovating, repairing, and planting our farm, in doing so we also repair and grow ourselves.

Thank you

.
