Buddy had another seizure this morning. I resisted doing CPR this time as I realized that if it his time to "go over the Rainbow Bridge", I cannot keep forcing him to stay by intervening. So for about 30 seconds he wasn't breathing, and his heartbeat slowed down to approx 15-20 beats/minute (which is incompatible with life). He then started to gasp for air - though not truly breathing. About 15 seconds later, as though everything kickstarted back to life again, his whole body shook (like a brief epileptic seizure) and he "came to". He then laid there for a couple of minutes as he recovered and I called the vet. On advice from the vet, I took him into the clinic where they monitored him until closing that night.

I phoned the vets at 6pm to find out how Buddy was going and whether I needed to transport him to the 24hr Critical Care vets overnight or not, but they said the vet was busy and would talk to me when I got there. When I arrived, they said I could take him home and hopefully increasing his medication would help.

Just as I was about to leave, I remembered seeing a "lump" on his ear (I didn't know if it was just a skin tag, maybe something like a tick, though it didn't look like a normal tick). I had made an appointment for Monday to see the vet about it, but figured as we were already there, to have the vet check it out. BY THE GRACE OF GOD did I decided to do that as IT WAS A TICK! So the vet immediately removed it. She said the tick didn't look normal as it appeared 'almost dead'. I hadn't give Buddy his flea/tick treatment in months, so I can only thank God for this miracle and perfect timing - because Buddy would have surely died if the tick had done it's normal thing and if I had waited til Monday to see the vet about it.

So all I can say is Praise God!
