Greetings to you wherever you are in your day. To those of you who have donated, supported, and followed Ali’s case here in this space, we wanted to say a big, warm thank you. Thank you for giving of your resources to help us cover living costs, lawyer costs, travel costs, etc., during the last four months. It relieved a lot of pressure on us to know that we could focus fully on the tasks in front of us--for Laressa, working for Ali's release, and for Ali, to put his energies into day-by-day surviving prison and not having to worry about how the rent will be paid.

Your donations enabled us to do what had to be done in the last four months, and to do it with more power and perseverance. The many generous gifts freed me (Laressa) to focus with more strength on: media work, risk analysis, communicating with the many different actors inside the support structure, creativity to support Ali’s well-being in prison, emotional work and care, advocacy talks with diplomats and NGOs, as well as daily work with the Crisis Team in Berlin. Your financial support was and is a central part of the holistic crisis management.

This experience is not over for us; today (22. Nov) in fact marks the second hearing in the case, which continues in Turkey, with the lawyers representing Ali and Peter in abstentia.

We are so thankful for Ali’s release from pre-trial detention and to finally be together again so that we can begin to heal and recover from the trauma of the last four months. Thank you for being a part of our support.
