My 68-year old mom underwent cryosurgery last week here at Fuda Cancer Hospital last July 19. The tumor was injected with argon gas to kill it and prevent further growth. The prognosis for the procedure was good--90% positive control of the tumor as per the doctors. My mom is recovering from the minimally invasive procedure but tomorrow, July 26, she will undergo biopsy of the liver to verify the metastases (as the doctors found small hypodensities) and perform Percutaneous Ethanol (Alcohol) Injection (PEI). Ethanol will be injected to the hepatic lesions to kill the possible small tumors.
