Hi everyone, a quick note to thank each and every one of you who have shown an interest and supported our campaign to raise funds for Chris's surgery. The words thank you do not fully express what we feel.

Our fantastic friends and family have been busy with a whole range of fundraising activities, including a stand at the local farmers' market at Shongweni, raffles, games and fun for the kids and a car boot sale in the pipeline. Last Saturday at the market, the team raised nearly R3000/$250, and the stand will be up for the next two Saturdays.. My grandson Keegan was part of the fundraising at the market, and when he got home, he found the monopoly box and made his own "donation" - it was so sweet.

Chris spent a week with long-time friends in Johannesburg last week - a short holiday before his surgery, which he really enjoyed. While he was there, he went to see his elderly aunt Lindi Myeza in Soweto, who is housebound. Aunt Lindi was overjoyed to spend time with her grandnephew and Chris plans to return for a visit later in the year,, when he has recovered.

The surgeon called this morning to confirm all of the arrangements - two weeks to go and counting!
