June Fundraising Update

Update posted by Chris Novell

Our latest fundraising effort is to provide Elsie with an accessible home where she is able to get around independently and feel safe. We have fought to have a lift installed and though we will receive help from the council, this will no where near cover the cost for all the work needed to make Elsie's life more comfortable. The lift on its own is £14,000 and a specialist high/low bath will be around £8,000.

The initial response from people has been incredible and we are working hard to arrange a host of other events throughout the year to ensure we maintain support.

Our new goal is to raise £30,000 to make these adaptations future proof for Elsie. Hopefully by the time she is 5 and relying on her power chair more, she will be able to use it freely around her home.

We always try to show the positive and encouraging aspects of Elsie’s life, in reality she has to be carried up and down stairs continuously throughout the day and to watch her attempt to move around the house without crashing into doorframes and walls is heart-breaking. Without these adaptations Elsie will not be able to live, play and explore like other children her age.

Please continue to donate whatever you can and share our page. Any fundraising ideas would also be greatly welcomed.

Thank you

Charlotte and Chris (Elsie's mum and dad)
