First Battle Won!

Update posted by Shida Baker

Yesterday, we won the fist battle.

Doctors at Mount E managed to bring down Syaqir's resting heart rate to 74bpm. It had been racing non-stop between 125 - 148 bpm for the last 8 days.

Dr Leong and his team also made many tweaks to Syaqir's treatment. They took him off his blood pressure meds and one high dosage antibiotics which had side effects to his kidneys and substituted it with a better antibiotic.

The intraveneous tube inserted on Syaqir's groin done by the initial hospital was taken out as Dr Leong and his team found a big collection of bacteria sitting on it. A new intravenous tube is inserted through his neck which has better hygiene than the groin.

Many more clinical tweaks were done which I cannot spell all of them out here but all I can say is that Syaqir is in good hands now.

Lastly, we would like to thank all the donors who have contributed to Syaqir's treatment. Yesterday the family managed to put the deposit to the hospital from the donation drive collected. Hospital had been cooperative and asked for a minimal amount instead of the $20K deposit initially requested. We still need to prepare for the final bill upon discharge. Thank you everyone for sharing the post and keeping up with the prayers! God bless all of you.
