It has been awhile!

Update posted by Jhayson Manlapas

We (parents) do not actually know where and how to start this update bit rest assured this is very positive and our hearts are truly grateful. We will be very detailed as we can. To begin we would like to say THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR EVERYTHING! For Sharing our story, this link, sharing your blessings,Praying for us,for everything .Salamat po.

The twins fought a very good fight and surpassed infections, pda, pphn, cranial hemorrhage hernia and low birth weight. We were discharged May 03,2017

Carmela- 1.8kg

still with pda, umbilical and vaginal hernia.

Camilla- 1.5kg

Grade a cranial hemorrhage

The twins made very good progress and I must give it to our neonatologist and nurses for they were very hands on and they gave the twins tlc.

It has been more than 2 months since we went home and it was never easy but this is nothing compared to what our twins had to go through. God gave the twins the strength to overcome this battle who are we to give up. As a mother it was very difficult until now to sleep. I always wonder if the twins are breathing right because when we were at the nicu there were many times that i would cry because either rheir breathibg and heartrates are abnormally high or low and i was alos told that it will be normal for them to forget to breathe at times and I would just have to stimulate them to start breathing again. I held on to Prayers tgat our twins will be fine. Many even relatives did not understood isolation and why we needed to do it. Many were uneducated (we cannot blame them) about the twins being very small and thin. We were always asked if they were normal or will they be normal (can they differentiate normal to not by looking at an infant?) Many asked as to why the twins looked like how they looked and that they were not cute infants as expected... those and many other issues l have to say we just let go since it was nothing and we totally understand but at times I have to admit it was hurtful but my real concerns were

Brain development/cranial hemmorhage

ROP

Not being able to crawl and walk

Thermoregulation

Pda closing and no other heart problems

Autism

And many more...
