Krishan is now AVM-free!!

Update posted by Louise Blais

Dear All,

After several months of recovery from his bleed on the brain, Krishan has proven to everyone what a strong and amazing little boy he really is. Krishan woke from his first surgery not being able to move, speak or even focus his eyes. In the last few months, his determination and mental strength have enabled him to re-learn how to talk, walk, use motor skills with his hands and almost return to his former self. However, during this time, there was always the fear that his AVM would bleed again and that he would have a stroke or that the surgery to remove the AVM would have to be postponed.

Today, we can say that Krishan is now AVM free after his final surgery removed the AVM. There are still more tests to make sure it was 100% successful but the surgeons are very pleased with the results. Krishan is also not as badly affected as the last time and can still move and speak. He did suffer from some post-surgery pains like vertigo which was a bit hard on him and his morale but he is soldiering on and everyone is relieved that the worst is over. To finish off the good news, Krishan has now been discharged from the John Ratcliffe Hospital and is at home with those who love him.

Thanks again for all your support and donations. The money will now be used for as much extra therapy as we can in the hopes of potentially getting Krishan back to school this coming year.
