Steve Goodsell takes on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Krishan!!

Update posted by Louise Blais

Like many of us, Steve Goodsell made a decision to improve his fitness a few years ago. He joined a gym, bought a bike and started to do a little jogging. He also recently had a go at Yoga which he found surprisingly challenging. Apart from the personal challenge of getting healthier for his own benefit, he has often considered if he should not put his improved fitness levels to the test but to also put them to the benefit of someone other than himself.

Steve is Yorkshire born and bred and has spent many happy and occasionally not so happy days walking one of the 3 peaks but has never done all 3 in a single day. At age 51, he has decided the time is now right to do this. On Saturday 10th June 2017, Steve will be taking part in the BT Staff and Friends 3 peaks challenge. The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24-miles long, and includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent and he will be in a team of 4 with a combined age of over 230 years!!

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Steve is really looking forward to the personal challenge that this event will provide. However he also wanted to try and benefit someone else by doing this trial. He had been contemplating which charities he might attach himself to in order to raise money for a good cause and he came across Krishan's story and decided that this was someone whom he could directly help and chose to attach himself to our effort.

THANK YOU STEVE AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CHALLENGE!!! We look forward to hearing about how well you do and thanks for your support!! You are an amazing selfless individual to be dedicating your fundraising efforts for a boy you've never met! The family are humbled and thankful to you!
