Pretoria Oncology Consultation

Update posted by Chris Bruwer

Hi there everyone. I am updating on my Dads behalf as he is too unwell. On Friday the 24th March I took him through to Pretoria to the oncology ward for his appointment . We started our trip from Nelspruit to Pretoria at 4 in the morning. Dad was very sick the whole way in the car and after 5 and a half long hours we arrived and started the long wait which was a total of almost 10 agonizing hours. On a positive note we were greeted by warm hearted Nurses that I believe we had prayed very hard for. They even allowed my dad to rest for short times on a stretcher bed .AMEN. Another positive note was that the night before we left we received the MUCH needed CT scan REPORT.AMEN. Going to Pretoria without this report would have ment they would have had to send the CT scans to Radiology department and we would have to wait a few days or weeks for the results that we already had waited many weeks for. Never the less the results Came through on my email and we were able to print and hand them in. We prayed very hard for those results. AMEN. The consultation with the Dr was not good sadly. The Dr gave my Dad two options. 1) Chemo every three weeks for 20-24 month or 2) Manage the pain at home until the end. If he chooses option 1. He will be taken to Pretoria for the day and receive his chemo in a chair for the day and then go home the same day and deal with the after effects from the chemo and then back again in three weeks and just manage pain and symptoms at home . The Dr said the Chemo he will receive will not make his hair fall out but will make him very sick. My Dad is at home and has lost alot more weight. He is skin and bone. Now weighs 55kg's and Im sure its his glasses that weigh the most. He he he. My Dad is positive AMEN. We are trying to source a better medical treatment plan. I will not stop. AMEN. We will not give up. His next appointment in Pretoria is on Monday the 3rd of April. Until then we continue to Pray for a miracle. To everyone who has made a donation I cannot tell you how positive this has made him. AMEN. Thank you all for the love , support and Prayers.
