Virtual Colonoscopy Update

Update posted by Austri Vivas

Hello everyone!

First I would like to thank everyone for your generous donations.

My mum had a very harsh week. We manage to booked her for a virtual colonoscopy as requested by the consultant who could hopefully preform the surgery. Finding the medicines she had to take to prepare her for this procedure, was a challenge. After searching for almost a week, all the medicines she needed were luckily found; that is thanks to help of friends and family who helped with the search in Venezuela.

She has been very sick and was unable to eat anything since Friday night. After following doctor's instructions carefully on Monday she went to have the virtual colonoscopy but, unfortunately it was unsuccessful. Doctors at the radiology department in the Hospital said: 'We'll be unable to preform any colonoscopy or similar tests due to her condition. Please save her the suffering of going through this uncomfortable procedure. She needs surgery now." It was not until today that I had the courage to update everyone, as it is very difficult for me to digest how little time we might have to raise the funds needed for her surgery.

Now a days unexpected acts of kindness go viral on the internet and can have a huge impact. I've been touch and amazed by kindness of people who I barely know and complete strangers who have generously donated. Please I urged you to share the fundraising campaign with friends, family and through social media. There are so many compassionate souls out there, that might consider giving a donation to help us reach the amount needed towards saving my mother's life.

I forgot to mention before, but think its important: If anyone would like to see the doctor's report about the tumor in spanish (informe medico) I have a copy available. As you can appreciate we rather not share internal/ strong images publicly.

Again thank you for your support and prayers,

Austri
