Kyle's recent Colostomy Operation update

Update posted by Adri Stratford

Kyle has recently undergone a Colostomy operation in preparation for his radiation treatments, it was rather unexpected that it all happened so fast! All went well and Kyle has been discharged over the weekend after a 5 day stay at the hospital (which he really did not enjoy!).

Kyle has been referred to Tygerberg Hospital's Oncology unit to undergo a PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography - Computed Tomography ) scan (on the 20th of March 2017) which will determine cancer spread, grading and assist the Oncology team in planning his treatment schedule.

Most people are under the mistaken impression that Government Hospitals are free of charge, but the truth is that they are not, they work on a salary gradient to determine which level you will be billed at. Each visit to the doctor can cost anything from R 200.00 upwards. Hospital stays are even more.

Please share Kyle's story with all of your friends to assist us in raising the funds needed for him to undergo treatment.
