Christmas day at PICU

Update posted by Jochebed Claridades

First of all, our family would like to thank everyone who has been supporting us, and including Kirsten and the family in your prayers.

Kirsten's fight is not yet over, but we feel really blessed because we are able to spend Christmas with her, and because of all the people who have been with her, with us since day 1. We are overwhelmed by how gracious everyone has been for the past month. We can't thank everyone enough for all the help and prayers.

In the PICU waiting area we have come to know the families who are also fighting with their little angels. It has been a community of parents who are supporting each other. So on Christmas day, Kirsten's sisters wanted to cheer up other parents as some came from provinces and had to spend the day with their families and tried to bless them By giving them simple tokens to let them feel they are not alone in their own battles. Our family has been truly blessed by a lot of people, so it is also our turn to pass on to others love and support. This Christmas time has been extraordinary as we have learned so much because of Kirsten. God really has a way of making us feel His love and grace. Kirsten has been an instrument, an angel who made us realize a lot of important things, learn incomparable life lessons, made the family closer, restored our faith in human kindness, and taught us what really matters in life.

As a family, we pray for all the people - family, relatives, friends, friends of friends/relatives, mothers, fathers, other families, strangers who have helped Kirsten, who continuously prayed for her and her family, who have been sharing her stories to others, who have shown support to her and the family, who have said kind words to the family, to be blessed by our Lord, to have good health, to have a happy and fulfilling life. May God shower you all with His love and grace. We thank the Lord for all of you. Amen.

Merry Christmas everyone, and please still include Kirsten and the family in your prayers.
