A lot has happened since my last update. Denise was taken off the breathing tube and Prophanol on Tuesday November 29th. She was sleeping but did hear Debi and muttered I love you. Later that evening Denise was getting agitated so they put her back on her pain meds and she made it through the night. On Wednesday they put her on Haldol in hopes of stopping the agitation and so they wouldn't have to put her completely under and back on the breathing tube. She woke up and talked to Debi and understood that Darnella was coming in that afternoon. On Wednesday night the hospital called and they had to intubate her because she went into respiratory arrest and had a pinkish foam coming from her mouth. On Monday December 5th they plan to give Denise a tracheotomy and hook the trach up to the ventilator. This way she will no longer have the tube down her throat and she won't have to be kept in a deep sleep. They're hoping to be able to get her awake enough to respond to commands and if she seems to have problems breathing are goes into respiratory arrest again they can hook the trach to the ventilator. Monday night she is still sedated from the tracheotomy.
