Charity concert - Mild Blood

Update posted by Gonzalo Hoppichler

Hi everyone,

it’s Gonzalo this time.

I'm Rafael Hoppichler’s son and drummer for a band called Mild Blood.

As you might have read in a previous update, last Thursday, December 29th, we hosted a charity concert for Sümeyye at Madrid’s Moby Dick Club with support coming from our pals The Sharrocks.

In spite of many friends being out of town because of the Christmas holidays, the event ended up being a huge success as we managed to get a crowd of 200+ people coming to the gig (almost the club’s full capacity), and we had lots of fun!

It was a real pleasure for us to be able to help Sümeyye and her family in our very own way.

The band started out as a fun hobby (actually, it still is) and for us, the best possible reward is already to play in front of such a crowd.

Therefore we decided to donate the complete amount of money earned out of ticket sales, which finally resulted in 1.360 EUR net (after paying for the club and the sound equipment rental).

We knew we had to do something to help Sümeyye from the very moment Rafa told us about her devastating story, and thought the best and most effective thing to do would be to have a good time for an even better cause.

For those who couldn’t make it, here's a nice video of the live performance of Mild Blood’s “The Roman” from Thursday’s charity concert:

All the best for you, Sümeyye, from the five of us at Mild Blood.
