Loved Ones:

Thank you all for your love and support. I couldn't have made it through this past year without you; please know that I am eternally grateful for each one of you. I finally have a radiation and chemo schedule. Beginning Wednesday, November 2, I will have radiation every day (Monday - Friday) for 6 weeks; chemo is once a week after radiation. Both doctor's offices are located on Magnolia near Baylor All Saints.

On November 2, I have to be at the radiation doctor's office by 6:30 am, and that appointment will last at least an hour. Then I have chemo, and that appointment will last 5 hours. After the first day, the radiation will only take between 15 and 20 minutes and is scheduled for 8:30 am each day. Chemo is only once a week and should only take a couple of hours.

I might be able to take myself at first. The chemo isn't supposed to be too terrible - I won't lose my hair and the worst side effect is nausea. However, the radiation is supposed to start out mild and then get more difficult until the end when it is supposed to be very painful. There is a possibility that I might have to have a feeding tube inserted if it becomes too hard to swallow.

Several people have offered to help drive me to and from appointments; some have offered to feed me, and some of you are supporting me with love and prayers. Let me know if you're available.

Love to you all,

Mom/Kate
