Update posted by Niall Speak

On behalf of Sion Swifts, I, Club Coaches and Committee members are overwhelmed and humbled by the reaction to my post about the Brae Field. We would like to thank everyone who sent a message, text, phone call and email, from all those at home and abroad. It was great to hear from past players and people who also have very fond memories of times spent in the Brae Field.

We would also like to thank the schools and organisations who have offered their facilities, this is very much appreciated. Thanks to Councillors who got in touch and we hope we can take positive steps forward with you over the coming days, weeks and months.

We leave the Brae Field with heavy hearts and vivid memories remembering especially those individuals and players who have passed, one of whom, my dear friend Alfie Crompton who took the utmost pride in keeping the Brae in pristine condition, he wouldn't be at all happy. It is what it is now and we have to look at taking the Club, our Little Dribblers, our 20 boys and girls teams, our 3 men's and ladies teams, our football for kids with a physical and/or learning disability and our veterans section forward. Sion Mills has been neglected for too many years it is about time that all organisations come together for the betterment of all stakeholders.Thank you for your support and please continue to support Sion Swifts.
