Update - September 12, 2016

Update posted by Jethro Jireh Tolosa

Hi Guys,

In behalf of zephy's family and ours too would like to extend our deepest appreciation to those who have shown generosity and support. All your prayers and words of hope/encouragement are truly appreciated.

We've been overwhelmed by the support these past two weeks. Through prayers and offline donations. And we're very glad, that now as well, we've already started to receive online donations from this site from a couple backers/followers/donators of our funding page. Again, thank you very much guys! May God bless you more.

We are happy to inform you about zephy's progress and update. Last wednesday, September 7, she was already discharged from her hospital after being admitted for a week. Her red blood, white blood levels and platelet count had progress really well after the transfusion. Her x-ray and other lab results have been doing pretty fine too. She's now an outpatient and is scheduled to go back to the hospital for her chemotherapy every week. Her doctor said that this is the induction phase of her chemo which is very critical because zephy needs to fight back the side effects of the medication and her body needs to respond positively to the treatment to avoid being admitted again in the hospital due to infection or conflicts along the way. We're really hoping and praying that God will help her overcome these circumstances.

She stays most of the time in her room together with her mother or nanny. She also wear a mask most of the time to avoid being infected by viruses and bacteria roaming in the air cause by the environment or other people, specially those who have flu or that are sick. She's kinda isolated right now (only 1-2 person is allowed to stay with her in her room) but she goes outside sometimes to help her feel that she's really home and not in complete isolation. She's still playful though cannot stay active that very long because of joint pains and other effects of her illness (her tummy aches from time to time because her liver was affected). Her two elder sisters are helping taking care of her as well.

She's scheduled to go back to the hospital tomorrow morning for the second session of her chemo. If all goes well and her blood levels and results after the session are good, she can go back home in the afternoon. So we all hope and pray that her body will respond positively to the session tomorrow.

All the financial support that we're getting offline (friends, family, relatives) and online (from this page) will go directly to cover the expenses of her chemo and medications. Some of these will also cover her transportation expenses since her family and us as well don't own a car. We are also not advised to commute every week because this will be stressful to the child so we are using a car rental service to accommodate her weekly schedule to the hospital. This is a bit costly but her case is sensitive so we are still to choose the best possible way to make her comfortable.

These would be all for now, any progress and updates will be posted here to keep you informed from time to time.

We need your continued prayers and support.

Thank you once again and Godbless us all.

Sincerly,
Fund page admin and Zephy's Family.
