Beyond the first month....

Update posted by Jonathan Dayrit

The 'Give the Gift of Light' project started as a modest idea and crowdfunding campaign here in GoGetFunding last June 10, 2016. Today (July 15), about a month later, we celebrate together with you our first month of existence sharing the following great news.

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Within a month, you (good friends, acquaintances, supporters and backers - yes, that means all of you) have:

  • contributed almost $150 online and around $100 in offline contributions to the initial / seed funds. These amounts allow us to purchase / acquire around 10 solar lights which will be given to families in identified remote / off-grid communities with the help of our partners (Arnel, AD, Julian, etc). What can we say? A million thanks for helping to share the gift of light to others.
  • Aside from the monetary amounts, you have motivated us to do more and to continue on by sharing with us your messages of support & encouragement, prayers, moral support, logistical support, and by sharing the campaign to other friends via social media, by word of mouth, etc. This is equally valued and appreciated.

Matthew 5:14-16

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Within the next few days, we will begin sending the solar lights to the communities and update you with news on how your contributions and support are helping to 'light up homes' and 'light up spirits'.
