Video: Using AAC and iPad app for speech augmentation

Update posted by Jonathan Dayrit

Sharing one of my favorite videos on Youtube. Produced in 2011, this video entitled Apps for Autism shows a segment on the show '60 Minutes' that helps to explain and describe how technology, mobile devices and apps are used as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools for speech augmentation.

I could not share or run the video on this page / site as the owner prefers it to be ran from Youtube (link below).

Viewing the video would give one a sense of how AAC tools - and Proloquo2Go specifically -helps people with autism overcome frustrations in trying to 'communicate' what they want, what they need and what they want to say or express. Basically, it is a very useful communications tool.

It was relevant in 2011, it is still (and more) relevant today.

Over the next couple of days, we will also try to upload videos of Benben use the iPad for AAC and other learning apps.
