We set off on our walk on the 23rd June with high hopes and determination, however the weather conditions meant that we were defeated after only 2 days of walking, although we did manage to walk 49 miles! The high volume of rain leading up to the day of the walk meant that the footpaths were completely waterlogged, and at times so flooded that we were literally wading in water up to our waists for miles at a time. Our feet were sore and blistered thanks to wearing soaking wet boots and our muscles from all the extra obstacles we were faced with, turning our 8 hours of walking a day in to 12. We are both really disappointed but determined to finish the walk at a later date when the weather is more suitable and poor feet have recovered fully!
