Let Us See What Love Can Do

Update posted by Sandy Greer

My campaign to pay the bills for a new wood/electric furnace and updated cellar duct work is ending a week from now, or less, depending on your time zone.

Please know how much I appreciate the donations given, and try to focus on the fact that, as of Monday, May 23rd in mid-western Ontario, Canada, donations total to date - online and offline - meet 70 percent of all my expenses.

Yesterday, at a Sunday meeting of worship, among a small, local group of Quakers who have welcomed me into their fold, we discussed the power of love, and what can be accomplished when people come together to help each other in personal moments of need as well as on the larger world stage, to work collectively towards peace and justice for all.

I had prayed the night before for a shift in my consciousness, to let go the constant anxiety about not being able to pay all of these extra new furnace bills, and what will I do. Indeed, through recent weeks I have experienced noticeable bouts of depression, and no longer can give power to that emotional darkness to the degree that it takes me over.

Thank heavens, something shifted in me yesterday, which became the first day in several weeks when I felt a light fill me up, and once again it felt good to be alive. The whole day was filled with a series of delightful serendipitous events.

This crowdfunding campaign began on March 18th, and I extended it twice. I truly have applause and profound gratitude for the support of the team at GoGetFunding, and their compassionate philosophy to give presence to the causes of campaigners.

Moreover, I am eternally grateful to each and every donor, including some kind and generous strangers, and I wish all of you everything good and beautiful.

Of course, I hope and pray for more donations through the coming week. Putting aside the silence from so many to whom I reached out, I now need to focus on keeping connected with those individuals who were not able to offer money yet who, instead, communicated words of loving support on which no price can be put.

So, quoting historic Quaker, William Penn: "Let us see what love can do," to light the path ahead.
