Mini-goals....the bricks we will use to build a successful fundraiser

Update posted by Ed Hawkins

Many of you have had the experience of setting your sites on something that is going to take a LOT of work, time, and energy to achieve.... finishing school, getting married, starting a business, doing some serious traveling.....

Often times, a great way to help avoid getting overwhelmed by the dream of what you want to achieve is to break the Ultimate Goal into Mini-Goals. In light of this, I wanted to share out with you what some of our Mini-Goals are for our fundraising campaign:

  1. $450 - this money will go to purchase our first electric wheel
  2. $800 - if we hit this mark, we can actually get 2 wheels and the price will be discounted. We really do need two electric wheels, so it would be great to save $$$ by being able to buy a set
  3. $1800 - We will be able to get the much-needed electrical work done to fire a larger kiln.
  4. $2200 - We need additional shelving and storage space in the studio so that our students have more room to store the projects they are working on.
  5. $2800 - Miscellaneous supplies and equipment needed such bar stools for seating around the large table, some pottery-specific tools needed to do work on projects, additional lighting to improve visibility, etc.
  6. $3000 - Additional kiln equipment. We have what we need to start firing, but the stuff you need to fire pieces inside of a kiln get expensive. Once we have the larger kiln firing, we are going to need a LOT more of these items.

I hope this helps some of you be able to see exactly what your donations will be going towards. As you can see, every penny is going right into the items needed for the studio so you know 100% of your investment is going to supporting the actual exploration of art through pottery :)
