Don is still at St George’s Hospital in a medical unit being treated for his ulcerated leg. Apparently, it has been getting better and he has attempted getting up with help, but is still not mobile.

They have been talking about discharging him (where to?) but since he is not mobile and still confused, he is unable to go home. There is no clear plan as to where he might be sent and it seems to be very difficult to get any answers. Jan has been finding it very difficult not knowing where he might go next.

Jan herself was admitted to hospital several days ago for pneumonia. She is home now and recovering slowly. Jan has not been to see Don for over a week but is told that there is not much change in his condition.

We really do appreciate all the donations and the good wishes to Don. We have been discussing with Jan the option of arranging someone to go in daily for 1-2 hours (for 2-3 weeks) to visit Don in the hope that having a regular person to sit and chat with will be helpful especially as Jan is unable to visit right now.
