HOME SWEET HOME

Update posted by Ma. Catherine Perez

Last Saturday, his Gastro Intestinal doctor allowed his discharge from the hospital.

After almost a month of being in the hospital, there is no diagnosis or leads to what is causing his bleeding. During the observation period (two days without the antibiotics inserted to him), his bleeding has re-occurred but on a very small amount. The doctor still decided to clear him for discharge because no further tests can determine that small amount of bleeding. We were just so happy that he can finally go home.

He used to be terrified sitting in the wheelchair or down on the hospital bed with his mom as they are wheeled to another room for a procedure. He was sleeping when we moved out of his room but woke up as soon as we reached the lobby. He shouted ?wooowww!? when he saw a different view; he realized he was already out of his room. He said ?bye!? to the people around him. In the car, he couldn?t sleep, his eyes were wide open, head turning left and right as if trying to digest everything he sees. As soon as we arrived home, his eyes grew even bigger when he saw the Christmas Tree my mom put up for him. He was just happy to be home.

Jace reading books sent by one of our kind donors. He loves reading as if he can already read :)

We have not yet won over his bleeding though? since he was released without any diagnosis, we have to be extra vigilant. We were advised to return for a follow-up check-up after a week to see any developments. Sadly, after two days at home, his bleeding has increased.

To those who want to know, he does not feel any pain. His poop schedule is normal. He is active and playful and cheerful as always. It?s just that he has blood on his poop. The last test offered to us by the doctors in St. Lukes is for him to undergo an Angiogram which is too invasive for a kid his age. We?re hoping we don?t get to that stage.

Bleeding taken this morning when he woke up

For now, we are checking all options available for us. We have received a lot of suggestions about his condition like homeopathy, take him to PGH or Children?s hospital, have him take supplements, attend healing mass etc. Thank you all so much for your concern.

In all honesty, the amount I am trying to raise on this site is to pay off his hospital expenses in Medical City without the doctor?s fees. This does not include the bills we incurred in St. Luke?s. I have other fund raising activities set for Jace like bake sale and some benefit gigs all lined up for him. I will be posting the details here, I hope to get your support too.

I may be asking too much but I have a little more favour to ask of you, please continue to share this link so Jace can get more support for his medical bills.

Thank you everyone who helped out for this cause. I have said it before and I will say it over and over again, we are forever grateful for your kindness.
