Kiera went for her pre op exams today. Unfortunately her operation has been postponed to the week of 24 August! She had a cold last week and was on antibiotics. The surgeon recommended she is well over the cold before they operate. This is a standard precaution for such a large operation.

This postponement will cause further financial strain on us as Tracey will now not have the benefit of looking after Kiera during the school holidays. Tracey is a school teacher and would have had the holidays off in the first place. I too will most likely have to take unpaid leave to look after Kiera after my annual leave runs out.

The support for Kiera has been overwhelming so far. Whether it?s moral, financial, or offers to help look after Kiera or cook us a meal.
