What we've done so far, what's next

Update posted by Marina Stanojevic Vecerina

Dear all, just wanted to share what has been done so far and what's coming up.

Mocca gave blood and urine samples and all markers are OK. We had to do this for two reasons - to see if the reason for her cataracts was diabetes which would imply a much bigger problem and change in our future behavior not just meal plan. But luckily all is good and she doesn't have diabetes but we still don't know the reason for this progressive eye situation. Second reason for this testing plus the physical check up she had was too see if she is able to withstand anesthesia. And she was cleared healthy and good to go!

Go Mocca go!

This brings us to next procedure - the ERG (electroretnography, sp?). Doctors need to examine her eyes more closely and see if her eye nerves are damaged and if this planned procedure can help. This is procedure done under anesthesia and Mocca has never been put under anesthesia, so I am worried :(

The procedure will be done this Thursday in Zagreb at the Veterinary Faculty, Clinic for Surgery, Orthopedics and Ophthalmology by Associate professor Boris Pirki?, PhD, Head of Clinic and his staff.

I am taking her Thur morning, need to be there at 9am. I'll try to send an update that night with info what's next.

Thank you again all for your support! Please share our story.
