battle is won but war is not over.

Update posted by Charun

Today's news is good and very happy but still critical with lots of work to be done. Loki has had her right lung re-inflate enough to be stable and come home for some down time. She needs to recover as much as she can before we bring her into surgery. She still has the bullas and to insure her recovery we need to have them removed and dealt with. We have to watch her very carefully to ensure we can get her in immediately if her lung decides to collapse again At that point we would be going straight into surgery which would not be optimum at this point. The more she heals up to a condition of a normal dog the more successful the surgery will be with less risk from factors like anesthesia etc.

We are plumping the blankets and getting her kennel all cozied up and her favorite sheep and bee stuffies are waiting for her. Some nice wet food just to spoil her and lots of love to keep her calm and settled. She will not be able to play or run jump for the next while so we have to make her happy in her kennel and on the bed laying down nicely (Shes so crazy active there is no other choice, you will understand when you meet her :) ). I'm so excited to have her back, but must strive forward to get to the next step.

We are in the midst of trying to gain media attention to tell our full story. We are trying to contact radios, newspapers, newscasts, or magazines, blogs, websites etc. We hope someone will have the kindness to assist us and make the world see what is going on, so we can also show how and give credit to the amazing community of people that have opened their hearts to us in our greatest time of need. This has been an eyeopener that has brought tears to my eyes over and over again. My heart feels overwhelmed by the support we have received and the continuing support we are receiving.

Please also be aware we are in the process of planning fundraisers in the future as well. I will be posting more information as we go along, We will need volunteers for those that are interested and want to make it the best we can and make it fun for we can for everyone involved. I want this to be celebration for those that are helping us as well as aiding Loki.

We want to begin getting the word out for this particular need for help and want to start a group/foundation built specifically for people that end up in that horrible situation of facing the brutal fact you may not get your pet in for help when the need it.

If you have any ideas or suggestions of how to reach our goals in getting our beloved better, Please feel free to post it on our facebook page. I believe in this and know that more minds means more perspectives.

Thank you everyone we will probably be posting more pictures then normal when we see her, but hey we are so happy things are moving forward and its onward to the final hump.
