I have now donated what I have raised this far reaching a total of 1,560,000 Myanmar Kyat.

Those of you who can do your sums will work out that this means I have exchanged Pounds to Kyat at the best possible rate, I have also incurred all bank charges personally and out of gratitude the 4% charge that gogetfunding takes from your payment I have covered as my donation. This means the full amount you donated is the full amount passed on to those in need.

I gave the sum of 350,000 MYK to the Daw Khin Kyi foundation. https://www.facebook.com/DKKfoundation This is an incredibly well run organisation and the rescue efforts have been very carefully coordinated reaching those most in need at critical times and saving many lives. The donations will also contribute towards the rebuilding of the poorest communities.

I gave 110,000 MYK to Humanity Light Social Group. https://www.facebook.com/humanity.light.5 This is a local charity group run entirely by volunteers. Last week they delivered aid to Ingapu township in the Irrawaddy division and our donations helped supply essential needs for the many villagers.

I gave 350,000 MYK to Wai Lu Kyaw Foundation. https://www.facebook.com/WaiLuKyawFoundationThis incredible guy is one of the kindest most heroic Samaritans and humanitarians not just in Myanmar but in the world today! He used to be a famous actor and then he started volunteering for the Myanmar red cross and now he is a full time charity worker who along with his volunteers go out into the most inhospitable and dangerous areas, risking their own lives to save others. His efforts saving the flood victims are truly inspiring and humbling.

I gave 750,000 MYK to Mrauk Uo Organisation and community. Rakhine State is one of the most severely affected areas with many parts of it still completely inaccessible. It is also a slightly forgotten area. A great deal of aid is now starting to reach Kayin State and Chin State and the Delta region being closer to Yangon is now getting lots of help but the people in Rakhine State are still desperate for basic essentials like food, water and shelter. This organisation will reach those in the most remote areas where aid has not yet made it to. Rakhine State is one of the poorest parts of this country and now with so much farmland destroyed basic food supplies will be necessary for a long time into the future.

I thank you sincerely as do the people of Myanmar. It is really important for these people to know that the world has not forgotten about them and their gratitude is sincere and genuine, many thanks and much appreciation from us all.
