IN-HOUSE TRAINING PROGRAM

Hi Everyone,

To help give a clearer picture of the concept of my project, I'd like to tell you about our in-house training facility, one of the main features of the business.

While the business will initially employ around 20 permanent full time staff, it's anticipated that an additional 20-25 staff will also be employed at intervals as part of our program, receiving training in all aspects of the business whilst also earning an income. Additional training will be made available to the trainees when required through an external educational institution such as Tafe, giving opportunities to acquire further qualifications whilst still remaining employed within the business.

It is expected that the in-house training program will be about 3 months in duration or quarterly each year. On completion some of the trainees will undoubtedly stay on in the business as part time and casual employees and be given the opportunity to advance as positions become available. While others will move on to alternative employment with support from both myself and Wesley Uniting Employment. These trainees will take with them skills they have learned on the job and an invaluable reference for prospective employers.

It's expected that the turnaround will be in the vicinity of approximately 80 trainees annualy and it is my desire that these same trainees will go on to forge successful careers within the hospitality industry, many opening their own small businesses in the future.

This training program will give trainees an opportunity to experience first-hand all aspects of the business and will prove invaluable to those wanting to find their place in the industry.
