Joe's first chemo was administered the week of December 8-12. This week he began feeling the affects. His white count is just at about zero - which means he has no resistance to infection. His platelets, the blood element that allows us to clot and not bleed out, were low and he was infused with a nice fresh bag. Thank you all of you blood donors out there! But the fun was just beginning. On Christmas Eve I came down with the flu and on Saturday he came down with a fever and was admitted to the hospital. It was a rough night but he is now on multiple infused antibiotics and getting good care. I finally had two fever free days and was able to visit my sweetie today. He is being well cared for. I gave him his Christmas present which you can see in this picture.
