Hi everyone,

So sorry this update is delayed!  I had tried to do updates from my phone and couldn't get them to stick.  Finally, I am able to get on a real computer, so here it goes...

First, I want to Thank All of You for your thoughts, prayers and support!! Because of your donations I was able to spend 22 nights in Durham to be with Jackie through her stay at Duke hospital and the Durham nursing home. It also helped tremendously with gas going back and forth on days I couldn't stay over there.  You as a group bought her a new Jitterbug phone and helped with the bill, which she has thoroughly enjoyed! You also got her 5 new fleece outfits and other important pieces of clothing to keep her feeling sassy.  Thank YOU!

Now the update:  Jackie has been moved to a nursing home closer to her family (maybe not as close to us in Winston Salem as I had hoped) but once again, because of you I have still been able to be there almost every day for her or at least for sure on the days that no one else was going to be showing up.  She decided to discontinue all treatments about 3  weeks ago and since then has started declining quite rapidly.  She has lost use of her left side now. She doesn't laugh or smile a lot, but every now and again she will say something that will crack me up.  She just brings such joy to everyone she meets.  The nurses at the new facility love her and enjoy when I can coax her into telling one of her many stories.  I will try to update this better, now that I have a access to a computer that lets me update!
