Friday, May 3^rd, we took Kyndall for a second opinion with Nouveau Prosthetic & Orthotics.
They did a full scan of her head and provided us with her exact measurements.
They believe that Kyndall’s remolding will only require one of their helmets
for approximately 3-1/2 to 4 months. As her parents we spent the weekend trying
to weigh the pros and cons of the Doc Band (Cranial Technologies) vs. the Star
Band (Nouveau Prosthetics)… and I believe we are going to go with the Star
Band. This band will cost $4,200 which is $400 more than the Doc Band but we
should only need one helmet with them. I have reached out to Nouveau this
morning and they are going to call the insurance company today, to see if they
can get them to cover even a portion of the cost.
