Update posted by Lynne Willimott

After 8 long days we're now waiting for the train back north on a cold and rainy Redruth station.

We left Marazion Friday morning in the rain, with no view of St Michael's Mount at all. Luckily by 1pm the clouds had cleared and it was sweltering hot as the sun burnt off the moisture. We arrived in Porthleven in plenty of time to get our tents dried before heading for tea by the harbour.

Yesterday we were up early for the final 22km to Lizard Point. We made good progress along the cliffs and Loe Bar, arriving in Church Cove for elevensies by the beach. Walking on through Poldu Cove past Marconi's monument we arrived in Mullion Cove at 1pm, where we ate pasties and watched the festival in the harbour.

Our plans for a swim at Kynance cove were scuppered due to the high tide, so we soldiered on, finally reaching The Lizard about 5.30pm.

The hostel sits just below the lighthouse at Lizard, with stunning views over the headland and out to sea. What better place to end our adventure?

Thank you for following!
