Wow!  the unwatched pot has been boiling over.  I am returning from the far reaches of our district - well past the Magadi facility and out to the Kenya-Tanzania border.  This is a place the Maasai people inhabit seemingly uninhabitable places.  Lions roam here (but I'm told they don't bother humans unless the humans bring violence.  After a very hot dusty drive, my colleagues and I reached the most outlying subdistrict hospital.  There was a bat problem here, and I did my best not to cringe as a bat flew right around my head for a few revolutions.  Also, a goat walked into the head nurse's office as we chatted.  The hospital had next to nothing.  I can't imagine being a woman in labor trying to make her way to this remote clinic.  Ambulance is not exactly an option.
