Our main objective is to reach out as many women as possible who have been held captive and imprisoned in public hospitals after successful deliveries for lack of being in a position to clear their hospital fees.
Poverty is a disease which could be eradicated.
We aim at supporting these women in Kenya in starting from county to county coming back to their feet by supplying basic needs to the new born in order to help them start well on this journey of life.
We've gathered stories from individuals who have been through this journey and facing these challenges.
To begin with, we look at a village called Busia which is located in the western part of Kenya.
II, The Problem
Poor pregnant mothers are neglected and even feel forgotten in our society today. They are not given the support they require during and after pregnancy.
On 31st of December 2019 we walked into various hospitals to find out challenges our fellow human beings might be facing and discovered a lot of women are being detained back in hospitals for not being able to pay and clear their hospital bills after delivery.
A case we encountered was various couples of women were in hospital 3 months after delivering they do not know when or how they will be discharged. They have no means to do so, they simply live hoping and wishing for circumstances to change.
III Propose Solution
We aim to support these mothers clear their hospital bills, offer medication and other basic supplies to both the mother and the child such as food and clothing and more importantly give them hope and meaning to life.
