Every year I hear the same thing, "What do you want for your birthday Mars?" Like anyone my age I say the obvious answer - "Money." It's not that I'm greedy, shallow, or self-centered but that's really all I want. You can't answer the birthday gift question with "I want someone to pay my electric, gas, car insurance, and rent for one month," because then people will laugh and ask the question again. If you're honest with what you want people seem to scoff and dismiss it. Don't say anything and you get stuck with the $5 display shelf gift someone thinks you need.
All my life I've had one passion that has never left me - investing. The stock market has always held my curiosity and been a back burner activity until now. Now, I have the chance to make my dream of being in this field a reality.
My goal is to be in the investment business and live out my passion to the fullest; to use this medium to help others as well as my self. After having read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad," I realize I have the opportunity to help young professionals start building their assets earlier in the career so they can have a great economical impact later on in their lives.
People in their twenties and thirties have long been ignored by the financial world for saving and building for the future. The business world recognizes the immense spending potential of this age group, but those businesses that deal with investing and gaining assets ignore us. Why? Well, for the vast majority the knowledge to spend money is more prevalent than the knowledge to save. The reception of this group is less than heart warming due to caps put on products available.
I want and have the chance to change this. I want to let those just starting how they can effectively and efficiently save now to enjoy later. Being able to control how eager I am to effect this type of change in America is hard, but I really want to be able to share this with others. To help others realize how much of a punch this shift in thinking will do for millions upon millions of people. Awaken an entire generation to their earning power not just as employees, but also making their money work for them while they work for more. This is what I want to do.
I need help getting this vision off the ground. Any donation amount will help in this effort. Like I said in the beginning, all I want for my birthday is money. Not such a selfish request after all, right?
