I am a senior mechanical engineering major at the University of Maryland. Recently I have become very interested and passionate about biomimicry which is using nature as inspiration for engineering design. I learned about these week long immersion workshops that are held by the Biomimicry Institute. This one takes place in South Africa. I would learn the techniques and practices of biomimicrry from the leading experts in the field. This would be a wonderful learning experience and a life changing experience I believe. The cost for the trip includes tuition, administrative fees, the flight to and from South Africa, lodging, and meals. I am a financially dependent college student and I am currently working to save up money but I don't think its possible for me to save enough by the deadline to register which is September 25, 2015. I would love to go on this workshop and would appreciate any help.
