Introduction to Binti Amka Tanzania

YOPOCODE is undertaking a communications campaign to transmit positive messages about the value of girls and their potential contributions in community development to showcase women’s successes. The campaign is accompanied by the measures that give preferential treatment to girls and women in terms of scholarships, gender-based quotas for employment or financial incentives directed to their families.

The Youth Potentials Community Development (YOPOCODE) is developing Binti Amka Tanzania project campaign basing on educating and promoting young women and encouraging them to reach their goals regarding educations, economics and politics out of challenges facing them in Tanzania.

The project is comprises of more than five basic activities to be conducted such as Conducting Research, Theatre for development, special training to Binti Amka Ambassadors, seminars and Public Concerts, University concert, schools and college clubs, schools debates and community development campaign through mass media.

MAIN GOAL OF BINTI AMKA TANZANIA

The BINTI AMKA TANZANIA Project goal is, through communication and the exchange of experiences, promoting, and motivating, educating and encouraging young women to reach their goals in educations, economics and politics.

TARGET GROUPS OF CAMPAIGN

This project established to save the young women/young girls aged from 10 to 24 years old at the Domestic and Streets, Primary Schools, Secondary School, Universities and Colleges.

TARGETED OBJECTIVES

1. Educate girls: Ensure that girls have access to quality education and complete schooling at the levels of their dreams.

2. Improve health: Ensure that girls have access to age appropriate health and nutrition information and services, including life skills‐based Sexuality education, HIV prevention, and sexual and reproductive health.

3. Keep girls free from violence: Prevent and protect girls from all forms of

Gender‐based violence, abuse and exploitation, and ensure that girls who experience

Violence receives prompt services and access to justice. Specific attention will be paid to girls in displacement, as they are increasingly prone to abuse.

4. Promote girl leaders: Ensure that girls gain essential economic and social skills and are supported by mentors and resources to enable them to participate in community life.

5. Count girls: Work with partners to collect, analyze, and use data on girls to advocate for, develop and monitor evidence‐based policies and program that advance their well‐being and realize their human rights.
