US$3,704.00raised of $3,000.00 goal goal
Bill Whatcott lives in Canada. He has been charged with “Willful Promotion of Hatred” for handing out Gospel flyers that also warned of the medical dangers of homosexual behavior, during the Toronto Homosexual Pride Parade in June 2016.
If Bill loses this case, he could be sent to prison two years, and possibly also fined.
This case has gained nationwide attention in Canada. The Canadian LGBT movement has made Bill a prime target of it hysterical anger and venom. The outlandish charges against him were personally authorized by the Attorney General of Ontario. As a result, this trial represents a larger issue than just one person, and the LGBT movement has begun to realize that.
Bill has never gotten wealthy speaking against LGBT activism and fighting for religious freedom in Canada. In fact over the years Bill has gone to jail and has suffered the loss of his nursing career. LGBT activists have gotten him fired from other jobs. As a result of all this he has no savings.
Miraculously, Canada’s most prominent criminal defense attorney has agreed to take Bill’s case, and is being paid from a government subsidy. So despite the forces against him, Bill has the best chance of winning that we had ever hoped for. This could reverberate around the world.
The trial starts in Toronto on June 1. It is slated to last four weeks. Bill’s lawyer wants him there two weeks early to prepare for it.
Bill needs financial help. During the six weeks he will be in Toronto for his trial, he will not be able to work. He needs money to pay for food and lodging while in Toronto. Also during that time, he also needs to pay for his family’s household expenses back home.
We hope to raise $3,000 for Bill’s financial needs during his trial.
Bill would be grateful for any help you can give him:
Bill Whatcott is standing up for all the rest of us - and our freedom to speak what is true!
