BigSixTourSafaris – Covid Emergency Campaign

About us:

BigSixTourSafaris is run by a local tour operator based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The company prides itself on its competency in running and profiting from its tours without having to rely on outside help.

Over the past 32 years, we have contributed greatly to the tourism sector of South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, and Lesotho. All profits have flowed back into the tourism sector over the years and supported many small tourism businesses as well as restaurants, hotels, game reserves, museums, and the Kruger National Park.

We have achieved this through our day tours in Johannesburg, Pretoria and overland tours to the Kruger National Park, Swaziland, Mozambique and Lesotho. Over the years, roughly 20,000 visitors, tourists, and curious South Africans have made use of ou tours, safaris and services. This has enabled us to show tourists from all around the world our beautiful country.

BigSixTourSafaris is nothing without our tourists.

Our Campaign:

In order to cover the basic running cost of BigSixTourSafaris, we need R850,000to:

1. Pay our staff for 6 months;

2. Replace our current minibus (which is no longer suitable to transport tourists safely and comfortably) with a new minibus (Toyota quantum 12 seater); and

3. Cover any repair costs of our minibus.

We are hoping to run this campaign to support us for 6 months, given that we understand our tourism industry will continue to be severely impacted even after the crisis is over.

We feel this is the only decision we can make at this point in time. We do not want to be responsible for increasing the spread of the virus within the tourism sector. Bringing tourists and guests who may have travelled to areas with high levels of infection would put our team and our tourists at great risk.

We are appealing to anyone and everyone that is able to help us financially. Please help with anything that you are willing and able to contribute.
