Big Prayer Estate Region is located in the heart of Fort Bend County. The vision was initiated with an action to preserving an agriculture plough that was in our family for a very long time. Unearthing the plough and putting it on a stage platform ignited many emotion; about my grandmother and our ancestors. I remember some of the stories and the names that was used. Big Prayer was the name of the area where we grew up. Once the plough was unearthed, I realize the importance of our history and preserving the facts of our heritage. NAAIM, Native African American Information Museum is the beginnings of the vision in constructing our museum on ' Big Prayer Estate '. Our journey from slavery to share cropping, to owning our own piece of land. The vision is an on-going work in progress collecting artifacts, historical recording and bringing forth the transition to our modern day existence. I feel the importance of remembering where we came from is critical for today's youth. The tool of farming the land provided a way for us to survive and the knowledge of love and togetherness helped us all.
