Big Dreamer, Bigger Achiever

Hi there, my name is Kristin Anne Botha. I am 24 years old and am currently

working as the Children’s Pastor at Walmer Methodist Church in Port Elizabeth,

South Africa. I have absolutely loved my time in this position and feel incredibly

grateful for the love and support given to me by my Walmer Methodist family.

It has always been a dream of mine to attend Bethel School of

Supernatural Ministry (BSSM), and I have now strongly felt God calling me to apply

to BSSM this year in order to further my growth in ministry. This is a huge leap of

faith for me but I have decided to be obedient to His timing.

My journey so far:

• I have been involved with children’s ministry since the age of 17 years at

Walmer Methodist Church, as well as overseeing the Kloof Methodist Church

Youth for one year.

• As stated previously, I am employed as the Children’s Youth Pastor at WMC and am also completing my fourth year Bachelor of Theology Degree/Christian Counselling through the South African Theological Seminary.

• I am now so excited to have been accepted for 1st year (starting September this year) at the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding, CA, USA. This is a ministry school that equips and trains over 2000 students a year from over 60 different countries. With all that I learn from my time at BSSM, I plan to minister to whoever and wherever God leads me. I know God is going to stretch and equip me during my time at BSSM to fulfil my passion for ministry in the most impactful way possible.

•I am not allowed to work while I am in the USA as per student visa requirements, so will therefore not be able to earn an income while I study there. I will only have 3 months over the summer break to return home to work and create my needed income.

How I plan on raising the money:

Raising enough money for BSSM is going to be incredibly challenging, both financially and personally. As our Rand is so weak, I am trusting God to help provide enough money for my tuition, living expenses etc., which is a huge testimony in itself. I find it incredibly difficult to ask people for money, but I feel that this is where God is leading me, and I will do everything I can to raise the money. I plan on holding fundraisers, selling food at church services, raffles and sending letters to different people who would like to partner with me either by donating a once-off payment, or supporting me monthly. I have managed to save some money every month and I will also be selling my car. This money will all go towards my tuition, living expenses etc.

How much money I need for 1st year: (13.50 SA Rand to 1 US Dollar)

Flights: 1300 dollars (R17550)

Tuition: 4250 dollars (R57 375)

Monthly rent, living & food expenses: 650 x 9 months = 5 850 dollars (R78 975)

Petrol Contributions: 200 dollars (R2700)

Mission trip: 2500 dollars (R33 750)

Visa & SEVIS: 360 dollars (R4860)

TOTAL for the 9 months = $14 750 (R195 210)

•I would love to further my career in the ministry field when I finish studying at BSSM, either with youth or children’s ministry and counselling. I also have a heart for missionary work.

• When I return home during the summer breaks I hope to be involved with youth or children’s ministry/counselling in some or any capacity.
